Dante jumped in, glaring at me. “Fuck that. Let's add some reality to this situation. He could have shattered every bone in your body and drained you of every ounce of the blood that is pulsing through your system. That's what could have happened outside of your home, in your neighborhood, for anyone to see and hear. On a more mental crushing note, he could have entered your house and slaughtered your entire family while you watched, and then left you to live with what happened.” I tried to speak, but Dante cut me off. “Why is that after everything, you're still acting like this is nothing? Woman, I'm a Vampyre, and we're not ones to be fucked with.” Just then, within a blur, I felt an eerie breeze sweep across the room, pick me up from off the sofa, and pinned me against the wall. Dante had one hand against my throat, and my toes were barely able to touch the ground. I was frightened, and I couldn't breathe. Within the next second, with his free hand, Dante roughly tugged at my jeans, and I heard them tear. The next second, he grabbed the front of my shirt tightly in his fist, and I heard Calvin telling Dante that he had made his point. The next second, as tears flow down my cheeks, I felt a hand forcing my face to the side and felt his fangs lightly pressed against my exposed neck. Dante spoke in my mind. “Any Vampyre can take advantage of you within a second. Whatever they desire, whatever sadistic pleasures they crave. Before your brain can register what penetrated you, what innocence they stole, before you could even see your life flash before your eyes, it can be gone...” Then Dante released me with a lick to my neck, my feet firmly back on the ground. I drew in a deep breath and held a hand to my neck where Dante had grabbed me. Calvin rushed over, asking if I was okay. I shook my head, touching my sore neck, not caring that my jeans were torn open. I knew that Dante was right. “Did you have to be so rough?” Calvin growled. “Justice,” Dante began, fangs gone, “you need to understand that your life can easily be taken from you. You can't let your emotions control you, your anger, because you're not dealing with a human. We're anything but that, and we don't abide by the human laws as much as Calvin might make it seem. You say something to the wrong Vampyre, something that they don't like, and even soldier boy won't be able to save you.” Wiping the tears away from my cheeks and sniffling, I murmured, “I understand.” Calvin did a double look, expecting me to lash out even more, but I couldn't. There was nothing for me to say because Dante was right. After a moment, Calvin said, “Can you get her something to cover up with?" Marquis got up from the sofa and left the room. Dante, gazing at me, asked, “Did I hurt you?” I shook my head. “No.” Calvin glared at Dante. “You could have‒‒” “I'm fine,” I interrupted. “Let it go.” And Calvin did, very reluctantly, as the three of us transitioned back to the sofas and sat back down. I placed my hands over my torn jeans to block a direct view from Dante, who was sitting directly across from me. After a while, Marquis came back with a blanket and handed it to me. I placed it over my legs. Marquis asked, sitting back down, “So Justice, you dented a car?" “It would be reckless of me to ignore what happened,” Calvin said, “because even I know there is more to the story than her just being a Doll now.” Glancing at Calvin, my brows came together. “Is it ever going to stop?”
Review
I loved Part two of the story because it picks up and lets me know what happened after part one ended. I finally got some questions answered and I was happy. Did I like the ending no because now I have to wait to see what will happen with Justice and Dante. I will admit that this book took me through some things and I came out on the other side better than I was. There is so much more I wanna say but I don't wanna give the story away.
Justice Labelle always had her life perfectly planned.
Her goals were to graduate from University and get into law school. Then one day, Justice tried to kill herself.
Well, not her technically. It may have been her body, but those actions weren’t intentional and the suicidal thoughts were not hers. Or, so she keeps telling her therapist and family. Justice is afraid she’s losing her mind and just wants to forget everything. But when her best friend is murdered, another one is being mind-screwed by a Vampyre, and her ex is back in town, looking as scrumptious as ever and very suspicious, maybe she isn’t all that crazy!
Christmas is right around the corner, so besides the Rafflecopter,
Shelique Lize has decided to give The Velicious Series away for free!
