Synopsis:
Author Penny Lane
decides to team up with fellow author Kain Brooks because she believes
the collaboration will bring something refreshing and new to her humdrum
life. It is at first, but what she doesn't count on is developing
feelings for a man that's hundreds of miles away while continuing to
struggle with the death of her fiancé, Zack.
The newly divorced Kain is excited about the partnership and happily realizes that it may lead to much more than just a book.
However, there is a threat! A stalker's evil intentions are far more serious than either of them can ever imagine-- so serious that they may not make it long enough to discover if their feelings are genuine or just a long-distanced crush.

Excerpt:
I feel a ray of sun hitting me on my cheek, waking me up. Lying on my
stomach now, I glance over to the side of me and the bed is empty. I sneak out
of the covers, making my way to the bathroom on my tip toes, hoping Kain
doesn't know I am awake. Making it successfully, I close the bathroom door,
leaning against the sink and staring at myself in the mirror. After ten minutes
of inspecting myself and a couple of tugs on the T-Shirt that I have on to see
if it will cover any more, I decide to brush my teeth, having no toothbrush I
put toothpaste on my finger and stroke away. Once I am done with my teeth, I
flip my hair upside down and run my fingers through it. Raising my head back
up, I flip it to the side, brushing my fingers through it again. I inspect myself
again and decide that it's as good as I am going to get. I open the door still
tip toeing through the house till I spot Kain. He is in the kitchen cooking
with music on in the background. He still has his black plaid pajama pants on
but no shirt. There is a dish towel thrown over his shoulder and a spatula in
his hand. One of the sexiest pictures I have ever seen. I watch him as he does
a couple of sways with his hips and then starts beating his invisible drums. A
giggle escapes me without control. Kain spins around and catches me laughing at
him and gets this evil smirk and walks towards me. I can't fight it any longer
and bust out laughing, then try to run in the opposite direction. He reaches
out with his long, muscled arm, curling it around my waist and swinging me
around. I wiggle, trying to free myself, which only entices him more. He picks
me up by the waist and sits me on the counter beside the stove with one hand on
my bare leg, daring me to move. The other hand takes the spatula and flips
bacon. That really sends me into a fit of giggles for some odd reason.
“Really?” Is all he says as he looks at me with a raised brow. I am still
laughing watching him push the skillet off the burner, then coming to stand
directly in front of me. He wipes his hands on his towel, tossing it over his
shoulder. He uses his legs to spread my thighs apart and grabs my hips,
pressing me up against his waist. I wrap my arms around his neck sliding my
fingers through his hair. There is no more laughing coming from me after he
presses his lips against mine. Leaving me once again with his ‘kiss and run’, he pulls away, lifting
me off the counter saying.
“Let’s eat breakfast.”
Review:
Ready for you is a book about starting over and finally letting go of the past and living the the present. Penny suffered a tragic loss five years ago and has yet to let it go and live her life. Kain is still going through his ruff patch in life and he can't see a way out of it. Then a opportunity presents itself for both Penny and Kain and they both discover at the same time that sometimes you have to let go of the past to start living your life again. This book kept me intrigued from the very beginning and I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen. There was a love story as well as suspense trying to find out who was behind things and the way that they were happening. This book was a little predictable but I also love that in a book. I look forward to reading more from this series and I hope that I get to learn more about the supporting characters that were in this story

My inspiration would be my daughters. Rita for her strength to keep fighting and constantly try to take care of me. Even though sometimes she can't get out of the bed. Kayla, for helping pick up
all the pieces that seem to fall, when times get rough. And the love they have for me."
